Geoffrey Squire Memorial Bursary: Terms and Conditions Eligibility: Applicants should be members of the Costume and Textile Association and resident or registered with an educational institution in the United Kingdom. Current committee members of the Costume and Textile Association, and their close relatives, are not eligible. (For details of membership, visit the C&TA website www.ctacostume.org.uk) Frequency of award: A bursary may be offered biennially. Value of Bursary: A sum of not more than £2000 will be awarded. This may be in the form of a single award of £2000 or two smaller awards. Purpose: The bursary will be awarded to support research and study of any topic related to costumes and textiles. The bursary may be used to offset costs of travel, purchase of materials, books and stationery, museum and library fees, conference fees, publication costs. Members interested in applying are welcome to discuss their plans informally and in confidence. This can be done, preferably through email in the first instance, by contacting Ksynia Marko (Bursary Coordinator), Holly Tree Cottage, The Street, Oulton, NR11 6AF Email: [email protected] Selection and Award: A selection panel will review all proposals and will make recommendations on the award to the Committee of the Costume and Textile Association. Candidates may be invited for interview to determine final selection. The Costume and Textile Association reserves the right not to award the bursary in any given year. Deliverables/Reporting: Once the work is completed, recipients of the award(s) will be asked to report in any of the following ways:
In cases where the project extends for more than two years, the committee may ask for a brief interim progress report. Payment of Award: The award will be paid in instalments.
