0ur special exhibition, Norwich Shawls, Past Glory, Present Inspiration, drew record numbers of enthusiastic visitors to The Hostry, Norwich Cathedral in October 2016.

The Past Glory of Norwich Shawls was represented by twenty-two fine examples of Norwich's wonderful textile heritage, and it was a rare opportunity to see these privately-owned beauties. We are extremely grateful to the shawl-owners for making this event possible.

Selected contemporary textile art provided the Present Inspiration aspect of the exhibition, with wall-hangings, garments and accessories and even tea-cosies taking design cues from this rich textile heritage and its early Indian influences.
