This is the first comprehensive account of Norwich’s textile industry in the second half of the eighteenth century and the early part of the nineteenth century, published in 2023 in association with the Costume and Textile Association. It covers the sourcing of wool, the production in East Anglia and in Ireland of worsted yarn, the processes involved in turning this yarn into highly desirable and beautiful stuffs in Norfolk and Norwich, and the trading and marketing of these fabrics in Europe, the Americas, China and elsewhere.
